Fellow outdoor enthusiasts:
Guess what time it is! Yeah, you guessed it. It's time to do that crazy Susquehanna River canoe trip again. It seems like everybody is ready to do some sort of canoe trip again this year, so I'm sending out this letter to get things started. I've spoken with everybody except Mike Mazz. Mike I hope you're up for another trip.
So far, it sounds like everyone is interested in canoeing, an overnight stay, and restriction to "just the guys". In terms of actual location however, there have been some other suggestions. In particular, Dave suggested Virginia. I think Mark or Kelly brought up "white-water". Hmmm white-water. Not sure if we're up to that. Maybe. What do you think? I think we all enjoyed the benefit of traveling a well maintained and documented route, not to mention the convenience of a well equipped outfitter who was willing to pick us up in a hurry. So I think we should limit ourselves to locations that are serviced by a reasonably service oriented outfitter. We also may want to consider driving distance. Other than that, I'm up for anything.
So here's the deal. If you're up for doing the same trip at the same place and time with no changes, groovy. Send me a note to that affect, or call me to tell me so. If you have suggestions, we're going to need the following info to get started:
Local outfitter name
Canoe Rates
Wet Bag Rates
River/Lake name
Map of route
Driving Distance From "The 'Burg"
Get the info to me, and I'll get in touch with everyone through a newsletter, teleconference, meeting, chatroom, or something to that effect. First and foremost, I need to know who's in for certain. So definitely let me know if you're in, and whether you think we should do the same trip ASAP.
