Okay, so I've been a little slow to get this out.  I've had a hard time due to the drought.  Obviously we're not going on the Susquehanna.  There were a few options, but the best one seemed to be the Upper Delaware River.  I have two trips planned.  We can choose which one we want to do when we're driving.  Both trips cost the same and last the same amount of time.  The main difference is that one trip includes alot of class I and II rapids but we will have to camp at a campground, whereas the other trip includes a few class I rapids and has islands along the way (upon which we can camp) and unsurpassed scenery.

The table below shows the run down.   While I'm trying to find ways to lower the prices, the cost is definitely going to be higher than last year.  Apparently the Upper Delaware is a trendy place to go.  As such the local liveries rape the customers in public, on the beach, in mid-day, with family members watching.  It's the American way.   Anyway, the current projected cost for the trip is $112.28 per person.   If we can get canoes we can cut the cost drastically.  The only stipulation is that the canoes must be dependable.  That means the person who vouches for the canoe must have used the canoe within the last year.  We won't have much fun if we find a leak when we put in on Saturday morning.

The plan is as follows:

Friday October 1:  I will drive to Hbg. and spend the night at Kelly's.  Anybody who has some free time can help with getting canoes tied to cars (assuming we come up with some), food stuffed into coolers etc.

Saturday October 2: Everyone meet at Kelly's.  We will leave from Kelly and Kara's house at 6am.  We may need two cars.  I'm not sure.  Kelly has the Explorer.  I have my van, and Rob may or may not have his Cherokee.  From there we will travel to North Eastern PA (approx 3.5hrs).  We should arrive at one of two launch stations for Kittatinny Canoes around 9:30am, and launch our boats by around 10:30am.  We'll stay overnight Saturday night.

Sunday October 3: Wake up in the great outdoors.  Eat breakfast. Canoe for about half a day.  Drive home.

Please take a look at the supply list.   If you are listed for something you can't supply let me know asap.   Mark, that is particularly important for the tent.  Although, I have another 8 man cabin tent if we need one.  Likewise, if you can provide something let me know that as well.

If you cannot make it please call me to let me know.

Sean
