Mechanical Engineering Page
This page contains my favorite links to Mechanical Engineering related sites.
Engineering Resources:
McMaster-Carr Supply Company: All kinds of products, saw blades, bar stock, bearings etc. They also have a really handy online catalog. Their full catalog is online and can be viewed. Nearly all products have semi-detailed drawings. All catalog entries are in pdf format.
Grainger Supply: Same sort of product line as McMaster-Carr. I don't like their online catalog as much as McMaster-Carr's. It doesn't include many drawings. But it is in html format. As such, it takes less time to browse.
Thomas Register Online: The entire Thomas Register is now online, and FREE for all to use. The Thomas Register is a listing of manufacturers and suppliers of engineering products. If you need a product but don't know where to get it, it is likely that the Thomas Register will help you to find a vendor in your area. Furthermore, alot of vendors have web sites with online catalogs. You may find a picture and detailed description of the product you're looking for online.
Omega Engineering: Sensors and lab equipment of all sorts. I don't think they have an online catalog, but they send a huge catalog out to anyone who fills out the form on their site. If you need lab equipment they probably have it.
These are some sites that helped me to find local companies that employ ME's. If you find them useful you owe me money.
Bucknell's CDC
ASME Student Center: This is the students' area of ASME International's site. They have some useful stuff: job tips, interviews with recent grads, contests, scholarships, etc.
